Syntax

SUM FROM symbol = expression TO expression { expression }

Implemented in iMath since version 2.2.0 or earlier.

Explanation

Create a sum function summing up the expression in curly brackets from the lower bound to the upper bound. The function can then be symbolically evaluated with SIMPLIFY.

Example

EQDEF S = SUM FROM x = 1 to 100 {x}

EQDEF SIMPLIFY(@prev@ , "sum")

This will calculate the value of S as 5050.
